What would you ask 1,000 adults if you had access to a high-quality, nationally representative survey? For political scientists, it’s an exciting prospect – and it’s exactly the opportunity Verasight provided to this year’s Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) attendees in early April 2025.

How it works

We provide this service for free to a range of top academic conferences each year, following the same approach: 

• Offer visitors to our booth the opportunity to contribute a survey question.
• Compile the questions into a comprehensive survey.
• Field the survey to our verified community of respondents immediately after the conference.
• Send researchers the raw data, survey weights, codebook, detailed methodology report, and dynamic HTML report with toplines and crosstabs – all the same features researchers receive when they partner with Verasight to support their work.

What did MPSA attendees want to find out? 

The final survey included 99 questions divided across three modules: Policy, Society, and Elections. 3,000 respondents were each randomly assigned to one of these modules. Our report makes it easy to quickly scan the topics and questions, such as:

• How likely is that the people who really run the country are not known to the voters? 
• In our national interest, would a dictatorship be the better form of government in the current situation? 
• How important is your race/ethnicity to your identity?
• “People who view the world the way I do are treated as outsiders in this country” – do you agree or disagree with this statement? 
• How optimistic do you feel about the US economy in the next year? 
• To what extent do you feel that the presence of immigrants conflicts with your personal interests
