A directory of 30 survey research companies grouped into four categories by how they recruit and maintain respondents, with recruitment, verification, engagement model, geography, and pricing facts taken from each company's official pages.
A survey research or panel company recruits respondents and delivers a sample that meets a researcher's target population. In this article, we sort 30 leading survey research companies into the following categories based on how they recruit and retain respondents: hybrid, probability-based, opt-in, and marketplace. We include geographies supported, engagement model, and panel vs. external recruitment in our analysis.

The company recruits part of its panel through probability-based methods, such as random address-based sampling and random text-message outreach, and part through online channels, then verifies every member and weights each sample.
Verasight recruits a proprietary panel of 300,000+ Americans through hybrid recruitment: random address-based sampling, random person-to-person text messaging, and dynamic online targeting. As a separate service, it also builds custom sampling frames from official records such as medical licenses and voter files. Every respondent completes SMS authentication through a mobile phone registered with a major U.S. carrier. National samples are weighted on nine variables, including party identification and 2024 vote. Access is self-serve, listed at $4 per complete, with a typical study estimated at $3.50 to $4, or fully managed. The panel covers the United States only.
Members cannot volunteer. The company selects households at random to be invited to the panel, which is what a probability claim rests on. Several of these panels sit inside larger research organizations that also run custom, opt-in, and international studies.
AmeriSpeak is the probability-based panel of NORC at the University of Chicago. Households come from the NORC National Frame, the area sample behind the General Social Survey, and are recruited by mail, telephone, and in-person interviewers. NORC reports 97% sample coverage and, as of December 2025, over 70,000 available panelists. Everything is managed rather than self-serve, including a twice-monthly 1,000-adult Omnibus priced per question, $1,000 for the first five and $750 beyond ten. Opt-in sample can be added via TrueNorth with client agreement. NORC also builds client-owned panels. The panel covers the United States; NORC's Global division works in more than 40 countries.
Ipsos KnowledgePanel is Ipsos’ probability-based panel, run in the U.S. for more than 25 years and now in nine other countries too: the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, and Croatia, some added by acquisition. U.S. members are recruited via address-based sampling from the USPS Delivery Sequence File; people are invited, cannot self-enrol, and non-internet households get a free device and internet service. Ipsos’ 2026 panel book cites 60,000 recruited U.S. members. The weekly KP Omnibus of 1,000 U.S. adults is priced from $1,000 per question unit; Ipsos separately sells opt-in online panels.
Gallup Panel, created in 2004, is a probability-based panel of more than 100,000 U.S. adults recruited via address-based sampling and random-digit-dialing; it is not an opt-in panel. Members respond by web, phone, mail or SMS in English or Spanish. Access is full-service, including the monthly Gallup Pulse omnibus of 2,000 adults. Gallup discloses non-probability additions for low-incidence groups, and one published study drew nearly half its comparison sample from a third-party provider. Gallup publishes no self-serve option or price. The panel is U.S. only, and the Gallup World Poll covers other countries as a separate product.
The SSRS Opinion Panel recruits U.S. adults via address-based sampling and random selection of prepaid cell phone numbers. Panelists, wholly owned by SSRS, are sampled by probability-proportional-to-size methods and surveyed online or by phone, in English or Spanish. Its Omnibus fields twice a month with 1,000 adults, priced from $1,000 per question. SSRS also offers Encipher Hybrid, blending the panel with purchased non-probability vendor sample, and Encipher Nonprob, a non-probability-only product recruited from the marketplaces and calibrated using the panel. Everything runs as a managed service in the United States, and SSRS operates under parent company AUS Marketing Research Systems.
The RAND American Life Panel is a nationally representative panel of 11,000 members ages 18 and older who speak English or Spanish, recruited primarily through probability-based methods; RAND randomly selects addresses from a list of all U.S. addresses, and earlier cohorts also came from nonprobability sources. Household data is patterned after the Current Population Survey to aid weighting. RAND staff program and field each survey for public policy and nonprofit research; market research is not accepted. Standalone pricing is published, from $16,830 for 500 adult responses, and the panel covers the United States only.
The Understanding America Study, housed at USC, is a probability-based Internet panel of about 15,000 U.S. residents, including a 3,500-person California oversample and almost 700 teens ages 13-17. It recruits solely by address-based sampling from postal delivery files, providing tablets and Internet when needed. UAS staff field surveys mainly for academic and government researchers; other UAS pages also mention corporate clients. Data link across UAS surveys and, for US researchers, to restricted Social Security, Medicare, and death-index records. Pricing starts at $3 per participant per minute plus $2,000 handling, and the panel covers the United States only.
The company recruits and maintains its own pool of people who agreed to take surveys, through advertising, partnerships, rewards programs, or a researcher-facing platform. Representativeness comes from sample balancing and weighting rather than random selection. Many also blend in partner supply and sell custom research alongside samples.
YouGov operates its own opt-in, non-probability panel of over 30 million registered members across 55+ markets. It runs proprietary panels in most of them and works with affiliate partners in the rest, adding external panel or marketplace spend for niche audiences. Panelists are selected by YouGov per survey and weighted by age, gender, region, and education. Verification includes email confirmation, ID checks, and fingerprinting. Self-serve is published from $1.50 (£0.80) per complete for GB and US only, with a typical study estimated at $3.50 to $4. Serviced omnibus work is priced separately: $300 plus $500 a question at 1,000 adults nationally.
Dynata runs a 70-million-member, source-diverse first-party panel across about 82 markets, plus third-party sample partners, per its ESOMAR 37 disclosure. QualityScore, an ML-based fraud system, spans deduplication, bot prevention, and AI-driven open-end evaluation. Dynata+ applies census-based defaults and custom balancing and shows pricing before launch; managed services add programming, fielding, and reporting. Its panel book names clients across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific. No price is published anywhere.
Profiles by Kantar owns proprietary panels alongside a vetted third-party network, reaching 170+ million people across 100 markets, with 80%+ of the industry's top sample sources available via API. Recruitment is opt-in rather than probability-based, and fraud screening runs through its Qubed AI. Access runs through Accelerated Answers, self-serve or Kantar-managed, or fully managed teams, including omnibus surveys in 50+ markets. Kantar Marketplace, a separate testing platform, reaches 150+ million consumers in 80+ countries, self-serve or with expert service. Kantar publishes no prices.
Toluna runs a first-party panel of 81 million members across 70+ markets. The panel is supplemented by a partner network and a supplier program: the ThinkAction affiliate network, app SDKs, and API access. Respondents pass device, behavior, and identity checks under Toluna QSphere. Toluna Inc. holds ISO 20252:2019 certification, with a scope that excludes the company's healthcare work. Toluna claims neither probability sampling nor census balancing. Access spans self-serve, API, and full-service research.
Savanta fields proprietary consumer and business panels, built partly via acquisitions, plus ad hoc samples from client customer databases and publisher and database partnerships. Reach is over 100 million people in more than 95 countries. Checks run at sign-up and survey level. Respondents engage online, face-to-face, by post, or telephone through a single point of contact. Rate cards are published for some Essentials and tracker products, from about £1,500, but sample itself is sold only through a managed engagement. Savanta is part of Next15 Communications Group plc.
Sago, rebranded from Schlesinger Group in 2023, combines proprietary opt-in panels with scrutinized third-party panel providers and global strategic partners, reaching profiled audiences in more than 50 countries. Its methods aim for nationally representative samples meeting demographic targets. SagoVerify combines government ID verification with behavioral and AI-fraud checks. Sago is ISO 20252 and ISO 9001 certified. Access includes self-serve research through Methodify, which draws on Sago panels plus third-party providers, API-based sampling, or managed service; no prices are published.
Prodege owns and operates rewards panels including Swagbucks, MyPoints, InboxDollars, and ySense. Its ESOMAR 37 states over 95% of completes come from these proprietary panels; vetted external partners are used only with client approval. Verification includes double opt-in, address and device checks, mobile verification, and CAPTCHA. Coverage spans 120+ million people across 100+ countries. Recruitment is opt-in throughout, with no probability claim. Access runs via Prodege's Peeq platform, the separately acquired Pollfish DIY platform, managed service, or API.
Pollfish, acquired by Prodege in 2022, blends Prodege's rewards communities with the Pollfish Network of hundreds of partner apps and websites for respondents. Reach is an owned member network of 120M+, and respondents pass 11 verification checks. One-click post-stratification weights age and gender to census data for 34 countries, all 50 US states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico. Self-serve starts at $0.95 per response; full service, via parent Prodege, starts at $5k per project.
SurveyMonkey Audience combines two proprietary opt-in panels, SurveyMonkey Contribute and the SurveyMonkey Rewards app, with third-party panel partners. Its ESOMAR 37 answers put about 88% of U.S. sample on the proprietary panels and 100% of international sample on partners, and probabilistic methods are not used. Its help center lists 104 supported countries. Double opt-in, AI bot and fraud detection, and census balancing are offered. Self-serve from $1 USD per response, with paid professional services available.
Centiment directly recruits and profiles its own respondent database through social media and affiliates, and blends in select vetted panel partners when a project needs more reach, per its ESOMAR 28 answers. It reaches respondents in 100+ countries, with most fielding in the U.S. and U.S. targeting down to zip code. Quotas can produce census-balanced samples on request. Quality checks include IP verification, proxy detection, fingerprinting, and fraud scoring. Access is self-serve or managed with a fielding expert. Audience Panel responses are quoted on request; the survey platform starts at $400 a month paid annually ($450 month-to-month).
Prolific maintains its own opt-in pool of 300,000+ active participants across 40+ countries and does not rely on other panels. Participants undergo bank-grade ID checks, then face the 110+ continuous checks of its Protocol system. Representative samples built on census data are offered for the US and UK only. Access is self-serve with an API, or managed services. Pricing is a 42.8% platform fee, 33.3% for academics, on top of rewards, with $8/£6 minimum hourly pay.
CloudResearch sells sample through Connect, its own participant pool, vetted on every study with behavioral screening, device fingerprinting, and AI-content detection, plus free census-matched sampling. Connect participants are U.S.-based. Prime Panels aggregates third-party opt-in panels, described as 50 million to 100 million participants across 19 countries, screened with patented Sentry technology. Its MTurk Toolkit retired with MTurk on September 30, 2026. Sampling is quota-based rather than probability-based. Access is self-serve with an API and pricing calculator, or managed research.
Respondent.io runs its own panel of 4.3M+ identity-verified participants across 150+ countries, built over a decade rather than aggregated from brokers, plus off-panel recruiting for hard-to-reach audiences. Signup requires phone, work-email, and government ID with a live selfie for high-risk applicants. Its consumer panel is broadly representative, with census-balanced quotas on survey and segmentation work and no probability sampling. Published self-serve pricing is $40 per consumer session and $80 per B2B session pay-as-you-go, excluding incentives, or managed recruiting with a coordinator.
User Interviews, part of UserTesting, Inc., runs a 100% proprietary panel, buying no audiences and sourcing from no third-party panels. Its 2026 Panel Book counts 7.6 million participants across the combined network with UserTesting. New participants face 50+ fraud signals at signup. Coverage spans 34 core markets and all 50 U.S. states. Pay As You Go starts self-serve at $49 a session. Neither census balancing nor probability sampling is claimed anywhere.
Forthright recruits its panel, under parent Bovitz Inc., through in-house digital outreach, screening by manual review, duplicate and fraud checks, and third-party proxy and foreign-IP detection. Invitations are stratified and random, averaging four surveys a month with a hard cap of eight and rebalanced in real time, which Forthright says leaves datasets needing little to no post-stratification weighting. Some projects also draw on external-partner or marketplace sample. Pricing lists $4.94 per interview in a 1,000-interview example; international or client-list sample is a custom add-on.
InnovateMR runs its own opt-in panels for B2C, B2B, and healthcare research, recruited via named channels such as business sites, patient forums, and social media. It also sources third-party and partner sample alongside its own panel. Coverage spans 90+ countries, and its Ivy Exec network adds 2.5 million professionals across 191 countries. It holds ISO 20252 and 27001 certification. Quality controls pair its Text Analyzer with third-party tools, including CloudResearch's Sentry for red herring questions. DIY plans run free to $495 a month plus custom Enterprise, API, or managed service.
Full Circle Research owns its Survey Roundtable panel outright and recruits through publisher and social-network partnerships (70%), affiliate networks (30%), and intercepts. Supplemental suppliers must meet its ISO 20252 standards; InstaConnect adds programmatic sourcing. Recruits pass HoNoR, Relevant ID, Verity, and CleanID checks; sample follows disproportionate census stratification. Sample is managed-service only, with no published price. It is headquartered in Potomac, Maryland, with a Paris office and a UK and Europe expansion announced in 2026. Its ESOMAR 37 metrics cover 13 countries.
DISQO fields brand and outcomes lift surveys on a consented, direct audience it never aggregates, with biometric verification and multi-pronged fraud detection on every user. The audience runs to 30 million opted-in consumers, sourced partly through its own Survey Junkie panel. Samples are weighted and quota-matched to the US population by age, gender, income, and ethnicity. Access is an Audience API, a self-service brand lift platform, or a managed research team; pricing varies by sample size. Headquarters are in Glendale, California.
The company connects researchers mainly to respondents it does not recruit itself: a self-enrolled task workforce, or third-party panels and suppliers integrated through a platform, sometimes alongside a small number of owned panels.
Amazon Mechanical Turk was a crowdsourcing marketplace where Requesters posted tasks, including surveys, to a global, self-enrolled workforce (18+) that completed a tax-linked identity check to register. Screening ran on custom Qualifications plus Masters and Premium Qualifications, though Amazon sold no data-quality or representativeness product around them. Fees were 20% of Worker pay, plus 20% more on tasks with 10+ assignments and 5% more for Masters. Requester accounts were accepted from about 49 listed countries. Amazon permanently closed the service on September 30, 2026, ending HIT creation and completion for Workers and Requesters alike.
Cint operates the Cint Exchange, a programmatic research marketplace where 800+ supply partners connect through APIs or hosted panels across 130+ countries. Most sample is third party, and Cint owns four proprietary panels, including Surveyrewardz and GapFish's TrendsetterClub. Quality relies on an AI-based Trust Score plus anti-fraud and attention checks. Access is self-service, API, or managed; Cint does not publish Exchange pricing, though its Theorem academic product lists $1.50 to $3.50 per complete. Cint Group AB is publicly listed.
PureSpectrum is a sample technology marketplace that owns no proprietary panels, instead connecting 290+ vetted third-party sources, including research panels, loyalty programs, and cashback and gaming apps. It uses quota sampling rather than probability sampling. PureScore, its AI-based respondent-quality system, screens participants before, during, and after fieldwork. Access is self-serve with no platform fee (buyers set the CPI), API integration, or managed Services. Coverage spans 90+ countries.
Qualtrics Research Services partners with third-party sample providers, reaching 90M+ panel respondents with samples mirroring census representation across 200+ markets. The managed team handles methodology, sourcing, fielding, and reporting. Qualtrics also sells self-serve online panels inside its platform, capped at 15,000 USD per purchase with 50 to 10,000 responses, administered through verified third-party platforms; researchers can also supply their own respondents. The platform separately offers a first-party synthetic panel simulating responses with generative AI instead of real people.
Rep Data sources respondents through 20+ vetted, integrated supply partners tracked with real-time supplier scorecards. Every respondent is screened at entry by Research Defender's 130+ signal fingerprinting, a cross-panel no-fly list, and hyperactivity detection, then scored in-survey. Quotas are census-balanced rather than probability-based. Access is self-serve (Research Desk), API, or managed (Research Services). No price is published, though its FAQ describes usage-based pricing on 12-month contracts. It reports reach across 57 countries and is backed by investor Mountaingate Capital.
