We estimate that your Verasight Self-Serve survey will take 48 to 72 hours to complete fielding. Surveys stay in the field for at least 48 hours, even if responses arrive faster.
Respondents who complete a survey right away might have different behaviors or demographic characteristics than respondents who complete the study later in the fielding period.
#After you launch
- On the Payment & Launch step, click Begin Data Collection. You see "Your project is in the field!" and get an email titled Your Verasight Survey is in the Field.
- We invite panelists from the sample type you chose. Each one goes through our attention check before reaching your survey.
- Follow progress on your dashboard at https://app.verasight.io/researcher.
- When fielding has finished and your file is uploaded, you get an email titled Your Verasight Data is Ready. Then download your data file.
#Survey statuses
The Filters menu on your dashboard lists five statuses:

| Draft | You have started setup but have not paid. Your progress is saved. |
| Ready | Payment is complete, and the survey is waiting for you to click Begin Data Collection. |
| Fielding | The survey is in the field. |
| Pending Delivery | Fielding has finished, and we are preparing your data file. When weights arrive explains the timing. |
| Completed | Your data file is ready to download. |
To follow a survey, open it from your dashboard. Under Statistics, its details page shows the status, a Completed count, an Opted out count, and a progress bar such as 264 / 250. The bar counts completed responses plus respondents who opted out.
#Automatic extensions
If a survey has not reached its sample size after 48 hours, we automatically do two things:
- Invite more panelists, enough for your sample size plus 5%.
- Extend fielding by 48 hours.
This happens up to two times, and you do not need to ask for it.
If both extensions run and your survey is still short of its sample size, our team gets an automatic alert. You can also email research@verasight.io with your study name.
#Extra responses
Your response count may climb past the number you ordered. The extra responses are on us, and you'll only be charged for the sample size you chose.
If you order 1,000 respondents, you will likely get slightly more. We aim for your survey to field quickly and reach your sample size, and a survey stays open until its scheduled end. Keep the extra responses in your analysis.
#Changes after launch
To pause, close early, or change the size of a survey after launch, email research@verasight.io with your study name. Self-Serve has no pause or cancel button.
If you edit your survey while it fields, do not change or remove the redirects. In Qualtrics, a published change applies only to respondents who start the survey after you publish.
